Christmas letter 2007

January
Savannah got her first haircut and started nursery! Shane and I now attend all of our meetings and get something out of them!

February
Lincoln did such a great job in the First Grade Storytelling Festival that he was asked to tell his story in front of the whole school. He did a great job!

March
Lincoln turned 7; Brooke took the easy way out and had a movie party (no games to plan!!)
Brooke had knee surgery, yes - the same one as last time, and yes - I'll likely have another one once I'm not chasing kids around anymore! (5-10 years...)
Shane refinished the hardwood floors and painted the kitchen. Bit by bit this Pleasant Grove house is becoming ours!

April
Easter - Lincoln and Savannah attended a gigantic Easter egg drop in Provo, no finding required - simply speed and agility
OnaMarie, Clint, Karen and Lyndon visited us for a few days; we wish we could see the family more!

May
Lincoln and Shane's yearly Fathers & Sons outing...gosh, I love that they don't make the moms go too!
Lincoln ended First grade at Central Elementary School with flying colors and was top of his class in reading. He'd already read the first three Harry Potter books by now, and he only started in March!
Brooke took a lovely tour of the Utah State Prison, where Shane works. Such a great place, a little in need of some interior decorating and windows, but where else do you get exercise equipment, three hot meals a day and unlimited use of the Government's money?
Shane and Brooke purchased a duplex to rehab...otherwise known as gutting and rebuilding. How else would Shane rationalize buying the fun tools from Home Depot?!?

June
Savannah broke her arm in two places playing at a park near Natalie's house. It's all better now, but we kind of hoped the trauma of it all would have scared some sense into her...nope. We're currently waiting for another break. The cast didn't even slow her down.
Shane celebrated his 32nd birthday...yes, Brooke tells him it's old, and no she doesn't believe that, it's just fun to make him mad!
Savannah survived her second Baby Contest by participating in the America's Freedom Festival Baby Contest in Provo. She won First place! (It may have had something to do with her bright pink cast, bright blue eyes and really, really curly hair.)
ShaiAnne, our dog, survived a vicious attack by a three pound kitty...it only took 14 or so stitches to put our dog back together...the kitty made it through unscathed.

July
Savannah got to be in the Provo Independence day parade, pushed by none other than her mom...that's what you get when you enter the kids!
Doyle and OnaMarie came to town in time to see the parade and the Snow and Billings reunions.
Shane and Brooke celebrated their third anniversary... (Look at all we've accomplished in three short years...kidding, it's nauseating to think about!)
Shane and Brooke made an announcement that they are pregnant!
Savannah got her cast off.
Savannah celebrated her 2nd birthday by going boating with the family and some friends to Jordanelle Reservoir.
Shane and Brooke had to revise their earlier announcement by adding that it's twins!!!!

August
The family attended a long awaited Teichert Family Reunion and realized just how many sets of twins are in Brooke's family. Perhaps genealogy is a must before getting pregnant!
Lincoln started soccer, which by this age is being to turn into an actual game and not so much "swarm ball".
Brooke and the kids, accompanied by Aunt Natalie, took a day to "relax" at Lagoon. Brooke now realizes why some parents leash their children...
Lincoln started Second grade at Central Elementary School. Now reading the 5th Harry Potter book, he reads several grades above his peers.
The family took a much needed vacation to Jackson Hole/Yellowstone/Grand Teton...lots and lots of driving, beautiful scenery and animals and geysers/hot pots.
Shane took a quick trip to Midland just long enough to feel Texas soil under his feet and to pick up a car we purchased from the Snows.

September
Brooke celebrated her 29th birthday. This is a full three years younger than Shane, but somehow he's able to make her feel older than he ever could be!
Lincoln underwent hernia surgery, such fun! He recovered nicely, after two weeks of not being able to go any speed over walking. Impossible for a boy who skips and runs wherever he goes!
Brooke got to see the Minerva Teichert exhibit at BYU, wonderful paintings - many of which she'd never seen before.
Shane and Brooke started a finance class together, we figured with our upcoming expenditures it would be good to get our minds right!
The aforementioned duplex, home of the aggressive kitty, and now showing like it hadn't in 60 years, sold to what we think may have been the lowest bidder, but we were glad to be rid of it!

October
Rhett and OnaMarie visited over General Conference weekend.
Rhett's girlfriend visited also, it was great to meet Missy!
Brooke and Shane added another addendum to their earlier announcement by finding out we're having a girl...and a boy.
Shane updated the kitchen cabinets; Brooke now likes the kitchen and is willing to cook so much more now... :)
Shane went on the deer hunt, he got a magnificent buck, and filled the freezer with meat...he really did bring home the bacon or the steaks, hamburgers and roasts…
Shane started helicopter school at Silver State Helicopter.
Halloween brought Harry Potter and a cute little puppy to our house.

November
Shane and Brooke bought a much needed upgrade in vehicles...we are now the proud owners of a Suburban...no, we will not add to the family just because we have two extra seats!
We had another great visit from Missy, Rhett's girlfriend over the week of Thanksgiving. Lincoln, Missy and Brooke got to take in a Jazz game, they actually won!
Shane, Brooke and Lincoln headed out to eat lots of food in Jensen; we got to stay with Karen and her family in their beautiful home.
Brooke got to visit with Sarah and Emily, her long lost sisters.

December
This month has been a blur; really just a whirlwind of activity...
Shane and Brooke completed the finance class and we feel fairly confident that we're not as money stupid as we could be.
Shane continues to work in the Super Max/Death row facility at the Utah State Prison. It’s a good job with good benefits, and such a wholesome atmosphere… He changed shifts a couple of months ago and the family now enjoys eating together every evening. He’s also working on getting his helicopter license. Beyond work and school he continues to work on our house, making it a home one step at a time.
Brooke submitted a proposal to work, which was accepted, allowing her to continue as an employee of Siegfried and Jensen after the babies are born. She'll be able to bring in some money but make her own hours, work from home and do something that she knows a lot about... She's looking forward to being more of a mom and wife.
Lincoln is greatly anticipating the return to school, after being only two days into a two week Holiday break, he already wants to go back and learn more. It won’t surprise us if he grows up to be some sort of scientist; he understands rocks, animals and earthy things better than any of us. If he grows up to be a paleontologist or geologist it would be right on track. He loves primary and can not wait until March so he can turn 8 and be baptized and start cub scouts. He’s a huge help around the house, he’s excited to have a brother coming soon.
Savannah is keeping us all on our toes. She finally understands a little about Christmas and though she likes Santa, he "worries" her. She’s preparing to be a big sister by loving her baby doll like nothing else. She’s started changing the doll’s diaper and feeding her bottles. She has absolutely no desire to potty train, but is quite independent otherwise. If she’s hungry or thirsty she’ll find her own drink or snack; typically scaling the cabinets or opening the refrigerator at will. She talks very well now; complete sentences, most of which are understandable.
The babies, Twin A (girl) and Twin B (boy) are growing nicely. Brooke has less than seven weeks to go before she will tell the doctor to pull them out of her or else. The babies seem to both be healthy and though we don't have any idea what they will be named, we promise to name them before we leave the hospital.
Shane created a blog (a web log) for family and friends to have constant contact with us and our goings-on. http://shaneandbrookesnowfamily.blogspot.com/
Shane has also posted pictures online for family and friends to see. http://picasaweb.google.com/shane.snow/FamilyPictures

We hope that each one of you has a wonderful Holiday season and a prosperous New Year. We love each of you and wish you the best. We look forward to staying in closer contact with our family and friends in the new year!

Love, Shane, Brooke, Lincoln, Savannah and the babies, A & B!

Thanks for the update! It's sad to say, but there were several things we learned for the first time about your family by reading your newsletter. I guess we need to stay in touch better.
We hope you all have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. May God bless you with everything you stand in need of and more.
