We didn't color eggs this year. I'm a terrible mother, I know. Thing is, we celebrated St. Patrick's day, then Lincoln's birthday, then April Fool's day, then Lincoln's party, then came Easter...
We did fill eggs, hide them, and the Easter Bunny did come; we just didn't color eggs.
Turns out we didn't need to.
The chickens did it for us.
Ironic, I know, that they started laying on Easter. You'd have thought we threatened them with the prospect of chicken nuggets unless they started paying themselves off...we didn't. C'mon, that's just gross.
Madge, Bertha, Lois, and Ethel (names subject to change) are safe for now.

COOL! I think it's pretty cool that you are raising chickens in Texas. For some reason it just seems a little funny to me. Dunno why. Really I don't. But I'm going to laugh anyways. :D
I agree whole-heartedly!! Those are real beauties. Way to go chickens....makes me want to have a couple of my own!
FUN!!!
That's so awesome. So how do they taste?

I didnt do the egg dye thing this year either. I however, didn't have cool ones from like.. real live chickens.
Way to go chickens! Knew you could do it.
It isn't Texas, it's Brooke. She couldn't get away from her mom's ranch upbringing. Did she tell you that they pet these chickens? If you think it's funny that she's raising chickens in Texas, try having them as her favorite pets.
Great pictures! Chickens, huh? I've thought of doing that too when we finally get to move to the country. I have yet to convince Wyck of that, but it sure would be nice to have fresh eggs just laying around.
Oh how I miss our chickens! They really do make a decent pet. My kids loved ours. They held them and carried them around. The eggs are so yummy!
