We Didn't

We didn't eat enchiladas tonight. I scoffed at the 'holiday' and heated up homemade vegetable beef soup with homemade french bread instead. So, you could say we went french, not mexican tonight.

I've been called out on my last post. Seriously, people, you call me out on everything...geez.

Maybe I just need to be more clear and less mysterious, more organized and less, ummmm, scatterbrained?

By the way, I'm totally not offended by being called out, I was going to post a little more information anyway, I promise. Call me out any time you want...

When we made the decision, back in February 2008, to move to Texas, we (or rather Shane) decided to take a job with a great company. It wasn't a big company, but it wasn't teeny either. It was a great fit, and he's gotten a lot of experience in the field of Petroleum landwork with the company. However, over the last two years we knew he'd eventually like to be on his own, as an independent contractor. We've weathered the highs and the lows with this great company, but when push came to shove and we got an offer to actually do it, we had to take it. It's not often you get to do what you want and have someone be willing to take care of the finances for you.

So there you have it. A little less mysterious, sort of. I'd go into more detail but frankly, Shane could be working for the Government in some sort of secret organization and I'd understand about his job just as much. It's above my head, and obviously above my pay grade since I stay at home. But really, would Shane be working for the government? Not so much. He's just a mysterious landman. And it's only mysterious to people like me who don't know anything about oil. And I live in West Texas...I NEED to know about oil.

And, I need to know about Cinco de Mayo...and the Texas Pledge of Allegiance, and football, and wind patterns...

Hurray for taking a big leap!

And just FYI, you put your right hand over your heart and say this:

"Honor the Texas flag, I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas one and indivisible."

(It could just as well say, Texas flat and dusty.)
