Dear Vacation,
Thanks for today. It was fun. I hope the kiddos enjoyed it as much as I did. You know the zoo, with it's thousands of people, babies, kids, pregnant women and animals - it's always fun. I'm not sure why I always pick a really hot day to go to the zoo.
Perhaps I should be a meteorologist, I'm that good at picking the hot days. Though seriously, at 90° yesterday it felt like I should almost have a jacket on in contrast to the heat we were having in Texas before we left.
Lincoln loved the penguins and monkeys. Savannah loved the carousel and the elephants. Grandma loved that she was with us in the heat. The babies loved the snacks and the stroller.
Note to self, the double strollers at the zoo are SO worth it. Seriously, they are marvelous on the hills, though lacking a little bit of cargo space, totally worth the $8 to rent. Trust me, I know my double strollers.
We saw the penguins being fed, the baby elephant and the elephant show, the giraffes eating, the new gorilla, and hundreds of other animals, plus we rode the carousel and the highlight?
The choo-choo. Hands down. Last year it was the worst, with Cael and Landry screaming the entire time. This year they had smiles pasted on the faces for the whole ride. Best $1.50 (or adventure plus package) besides the stroller. Totally!
Tomorrow on the agenda? Who knows. I need to make some calls and see some people and do some things. Plus we're going to see Natalie, Sandee and Trevor. Oh, and a quick trip to Walmart... of course.
