Deceit

It's a deceitfully beautiful day in West Texas.  Bright blue skies, wonderful yellow sun...30° temperature...

Seriously.

What happened to the peace I was gleaning from the idea of global warming?!?  Instead it feels like we're headed straight for another ice age and I'm anticipating ice bergs forming in the local duck pond. (Albeit nasty, smelly ice bergs)

It wouldn't be much of a problem except I lose all motivation when the temperatures drop below 60°.  And I have a HUGE to do list sitting on my desk awaiting my undivided attention.  Instead of accomplishing anything on the list, I want to just sit under a blanket sipping hot cocoa.  But I can't, because I'm on a self-imposed diet...

Argh.

I can't stand the fact that these words are about to come out of my technologically challenged mouth, but, "If it's going to be this cold, why doesn't it just snow so at least half of my family can be happy".   There, I said it.  If it snows tonight I'll take credit, and I won't make mention at all the hundreds of silent prayers sent to the heavens by my children for the white stuff.

If it doesn't snow tonight, which I really don't think it will, then can we please turn the heat up a little bit?

Please!?!

I'm trying my hardest to feel sorry for you but it's not happening...the high today in Idaho Falls was 2 degrees! It literally hurt to smile when we were outside. So, yes, I do feel bad for you because I'm HATING the cold, but really, 30 degrees is a heat wave around here! Go ahead, drink some hot cocoa under a warm blanket knowing that someone else is doing the same thing (me)!
