I'm thinking of observing Lent this year. Not religiously, of course, because Mormons don't observe Lent, plus I already repent daily, and I fast monthly. This would be more of a personal thing; use someone else's religious observations to give up a single indulgence for the 40 day period prior to Easter as an exercise in self-control.
Sure, Lent is a great thing, for those who religiously practice this, it's a period of fasting and repentance in preparation for Easter. It's a time for sacrifice and simplicity. Those are all really, really good things.
So, my question is this? If you were to give up an indulgence for 40 days, what would it be?

Humm. Nope, not that. No way on that. Heck no on that. I guess I'm just glad I'm a Mormon and don't have to observe Lent! Att least I took this opportunity to pontificate how unwilling I am to change for the better. Maybe I'll come up with something later. I'll think on it.
It took me till midnight last night to talk myself into this. I'm giving up computer games till Easter. I figure if the Lord could do all He could for me, I can do that. This is a real test of strength. I use these games as rewards for doing the jobs I hate to do. Maybe, just maybe, I'll kick this addiction and accomplish a little more.
