Seriously.
I think our unemployment rate is hovering around 2%-ish.
Why, you ask? Because we're an oil town. We may be paying nearly $4 a gallon for gasoline, but we're rolling in the oil work right now.
That means everyone who's anyone is working for big money drilling and pumping oil. That leaves everything else in town looking for quality employees. Trust me, now is not the time to be dining out, or the time to look for quality customer service.
Stuck to my car windshield the other day was a flyer from McDonalds advertising one of their upcoming hiring days. Other than a few mis-spelled words, this flyer touted the benefits of working for the fast food company. And the plus, for those who read this blog religiously, it was ALL in English!
So, if you're looking for a job, starting at around $10+ an hour, with great benefits including flexible hours, free transportation to and from work, insurance, free meals until first check and discounts thereafter, monthly incentives, friendly working environment, and opportunity for growth, head to a local Midland, Texas McD's...
They need you.
Similar offers available at pretty much every restaurant and/or retail store in the city. They need employees like we need rain. Desperately.
