Yes, the plan was to take a week off of blogging. I was all caught up on posts, and then my husband had to go and have a birthday...his 36th.
So, because I've never done this before, and the cheesy-ness isn't lost on me, I'm going to list 36 things I love about Shane.
1. He kills bugs and spiders for me, with minimal teasing.
2. He loves my cooking.
3. He loves me.
4. He's frugal, thrifty and loves to save money.
5. He can fix anything.
6. He usually picks good movies to watch, and when he doesn't he doesn't mind that I give him crap about it.
7. He loves our kids, all four of them, equally.
8. He works hard for us.
9. He understands that sometimes girls are hormonal, and he just gets over it. (even when all three girls in the house are ornery and moody)
10. He enjoys music. Pretty much all kinds of music.
11. He will participate in dance parties with the kids and me.
12. He plays a little piano, violin and guitar, but he'll deny it if you ask him.
13. He sings really well, but he'll adamantly deny that if you mention it.
14. He is irritated by the same kinds of people that irritate me.
15. He loves motorcycles.
16. He speaks Japanese.
17. He didn't whine too bad when I signed us up for a dance class with some friends.
18. He dances well.
19. He is a great husband and father.
20. He upholds all of his duties at church, at work and here at home.
21. He takes care of the pets, even when he doesn't want to.
22. He takes care of the yard, even when he doesn't want to.
23. He isn't afraid of puke, and will clean it up...even when he doesn't want to.
24. He changed diapers and never complained.
25. He is warm to my cold and doesn't mind me taking some of his body heat when I'm freezing.
26. He loves chocolate, almost more than me, and can sniff it out anywhere in the house. Anywhere.
27. He taught me to love sushi and other Japanese food.
28. He loves sports.
29. He is super smart.
30. He has great friends, and he'll keep them for life. Plus his friends have great wives, so I totally lucked out.
31. He can do our girls hair almost better than I can.
32. He bought me a pink gun, then took me shooting with his "guy friends" and didn't even think twice about the embarrassment that could have caused him.
33. His resume is as eclectic as his taste in music, and he's learned something good from every single one of the jobs...including helping me pick out the best bra size.
34. He has a great family.
35. He loves my family.
36. He loves me and treats me like a princess.
So, there you go. Cheese and all. I love Shane more and more every day. I am so glad that we met and fell in love seven years ago. He truly is the yin to my yang. He is the most wonderful husband ever. He gives everything to his family, without complaint. I love you, babe!
