Spring Break

There's nothing like Spring Break! The kids have hit their limit of attending school every day. I have hit my limit of days inside with two toddlers. The toddlers have had it with their own toys and let's be honest, me.  We all want to get out and get away.

Then it turns cold and starts to rain.

Seriously, that's kicking us while we're down Mother Nature!

So, we continued with our plans to travel 8 1/2 hours to Houston to visit family, play with new toys, make messes in other people's homes and enjoy rain that isn't being whipped with dust at 50 mph.

Oh, and eat my amazing sister-in-law's delicious cooking, relax in a beautiful home where I wasn't thinking about scrubbing my base boards, and see animals at a show. And clean up puke, but that was just one night...

We didn't even have to spend a lot of time and money planning extensive excursions to every entertaining place in Houston, because the kids actually got along and played together. Nicely together...hello miracle! Sure, we attended a livestock show with smelly animals, humid weather that made my hair have more body than an 80's metal band all put together and paid way too much for a lunch that none of my kids appreciated (but I totally did), but it was so worth it to see the kids petting animals, riding rides, playing games, pulling tractors, watching chicks hatch from eggs and seeing a really weird pig show. Plus the kids faces when we were on the ferris wheel were enough to make the trip all worth it. Oh, and the bus ride that apparently was the best thing all day...
