On a day, way back in April, Savannah's class went on a field trip to the fire house and the park. Remember, it was April.
I was waiting to spontaneously combust. I was grateful we were at the fire house. I wasn't grateful we had to also go to the park. Without the fire trucks to cool us off.
The kids were most curious about the murphy beds that the firemen sleep on while on duty. I think more than the fact that the beds folded up into the walls, the kids were amazed that the firemen made their beds. Every day.
The firemen were awesome. They answered every question, regardless of how strange it was. They showed us through the entire fire house, then took us out into the garage and showed us the ambulance, a couple of different fire trucks and dressed up in full gear. Cael was in heaven. He can't get enough of policemen, firemen and paramedics lately. Thankfully, they've been everywhere we've been, so he's had plenty of opportunities to climb in their trucks and give them high fives.
