We took the kids for a walk to the duck pond a week ago. They love walking down there are running around. Usually they love chasing the ducks and watching the turtles more than looking at the scenery. Particularly lately, since the scenery in West Texas has been nothing but dry, brown, hot and dusty.
When we took these pictures the duck pond was low, muddy and smelly. The grass was brown and dead. But the kids found the gazebo and ran, and spun, and twirled, and laughed, and climbed. And we called it the rain dance.
This week, we've had rain. And more rain. And the possibility of more rain.
It's been wonderful.
We should have done it a long time ago. And if we need to, we'll do it again.
And then the rain came...and came!
Hallelujah!
