Wow, I did so great there for awhile. All of those pre-posted blog postings flying out of here like clockwork ('cause they were clockwork...) and you actually thought I was going to be consistent again.
Fooled you!
Just kidding. I'm trying to get back in the swing of things. However last week was busy. In a really hard way. And this week is busy in a oh-my-gosh-school-is-about-to-start-and-I-am-not-ready sort of way.
Last week my friend's husband was killed in a terrible automobile accident. He left behind a wonderful wife, 7 children (and a daughter-in-law) and 2 grandkids. We've been really close and it was really hard, for us, let alone the family whose loved one has been taken way too early. It really makes you evaluate things, like life insurance, wills, child custody, and of course your testimony of the Atonement of Christ.
This wonderful man was the most selfless person I've ever met. He spent his vacation time going on every scout campout, young women's camp, trek, etc. that the ward had. He never balked about having to drive to activities, whilst packing up his trusty trailer and planning the whole thing. He worked with the youth when Shane was a youth, and Shane had the opportunity of making it full circle when he was called to serve as a counselor to his "old" leader this year. He spent a lifetime teaching kids, whether they were his own, or others, about hard work, problem solving, healthy living, etc. all while teaching them about the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I had the opportunity to teach five of his kids piano. I got to serve as a young womens leader to three of his daughters and with his daughter-in-law. Lincoln was best friends with one of his sons. Savannah is good friends with his youngest daughter. Because of the situation, 5 of the kids moved away this weekend to be with their mom. Lincoln is heartbroken. We all are.
In a lot of ways it seems completely unfair. No family should have to go through this. Particularly a family as good and faithful as this one. But, if any family could make it through something like this, this one can.
And while they're making it through it, we're still learning from them. Thanks guys!
Now, with that lengthy excuse out of the way, I PROMISE to get back to posting again soon!

We'll forgive you. It's amazing to me what death does to us. It's definitely part of the plan, that evaluation that it brings has been so necessary and helpful to me. Thanks for sharing, and reminding me of how grateful I should be. Love you guys!
