They're Two!

Can you believe those two started out like this? So small...so QUIET?

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that my babies aren't 4 and 5 pounds anymore. (which, by the way is less together than my nephew weighed at birth - by HIMSELF)
I get the fact that kids grow up, I've seen it with Lincoln and Savannah, but these are my babies. They're supposed to stay little for longer.

Let's lay out the evidence for you, k?

Landry went from this...

to this.

Cael went from this...

to this...

and it's only been two years!?!

Savannah-ism of the day

Let me preface this post by saying that Shane and I have a great marriage. Probably one of the best. We have amazing communication skills and love each other tremendously. We occasionally have "discussions", which we try to have behind closed doors - away from prying, little ears. Apparently we failed...

We say evening family prayers together. Lincoln and Savannah each take their turn, then Shane or I will say ours. Savannah included this little phrase in her nightly prayer last night, "please help Mommy and Daddy not to argue and get along"...

Seriously?

The only thought going through my head at that point was where did that come from, and that thought was immediately followed by this one...crap, please tell me she's not praying in Primary tomorrow!

Just so you know, there were no concerns noted in tonight's prayer, apparently Shane and I got along today.

New Discoveries

Cael made a few new discoveries last week...much to our, um, amazement?

Discovery #1

I know, crap... Now if it's not gated it's going to have to look like this:

Discovery #2

Apparently he doesn't understand the need for the diaper bag to remain closed, and the pajamas to stay zipped up...

We're at the age of discovery, right? So here are a few discoveries I hope they'll make.

#1 How to clean rooms instead of tear them apart
#2 How to decorate with instead of destroy Christmas decorations
#3 How to play together without reducing each other to tears
#4 How to eat while getting more into the stomach than on the floor
#5 How to play outside without being drawn to the one area (no matter how small) that you shouldn't play in

I think those 5 goals are sufficient for this week. Maybe next week we'll move on to other important discoveries like how to grow money on trees, world peace, curing cancer and weight loss for moms - yes, all seemingly impossible but I'm OFTEN amazed at what can be accomplished by these kids. Aren't you?

Back To The Routine

We sent the kids back to school after a week off...

There was no hesitation...

We were right back at it...

Climbing...

Brushing our teeth, combing our hair...

Reading books, playing in the toilet...

Because that's how we roll...how 'bout you?

(all photos taken via Mom's phone because she'll never learn to carry the camera in her pocket to catch all of our antics)

Grouchiest Child Contest

I laughed at a radio ad last week. It's a rare occurence because frankly we have no good radio stations out here in the middle of nowhere, so it's a rare day when I tune in the radio rather than pop in a cd. It's even more rare to actually laugh at a radio ad. But, I did - out loud.

It seems that a local radio station is holding a contest to find photos of the grouchiest kid. I think I have a few I might want to submit...

This one may not qualify for the contest, but seriously, I love this kid, so I had to redeem him somehow...

They play soccer

And big trophies

And I love one of them a lot

Congrats to Lincoln and the Wolverines on another great season!
