I'm not a good traveler. I like to go places, don't get me wrong. I love seeing new things, old friends and family. I just don't like what it takes to get there...you know, living out of a suitcase and flying - ick.
I pick what I wear each day based on how I feel that day. Shoes included. I can't very well pack my wardrobe into a carry-on case, and I'm not checking a bag for a weekend...that's just overkill, right? (Actually, I know they'd lose my suitcase and then I'd be without any clothes)
Also, flying...not a fan. Do I enjoy getting to my destination much faster? Yes. Do I enjoy not having to deal with traffic? Of course. Do I enjoy getting complimentary peanuts/pretzels and drinks? Well, not particularly, but sure, we'll use it in this example. Do I enjoy the comedic antics of Southwest Airlines? Sure, who doesn't. But I still get a gigantic hole in my stomach every time I board a plane and it's pretty much there until the plane lands at the designated vacation spot.
Oh, did I mention that the kids are staying behind? (Anxiety creeping up....)
So, let's sum up. I'm going to be flying, living out of a suitcase, and leaving my sick children for FOUR days...the hole in my stomach looks a little like this...
FYI, that's big. Like the size of a small city.
This will be me when I land safely back in Midland...
Yep, smiles all around. The kids better even muster a grin or two, just to make me feel better. I mean seriously, it's not like they're going to be coddled and spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa all weekend...
Maybe I'll bribe them with gifts.

Brooke, I feel the same way about traveling. And just so you know, only SW gives peanuts/pretzels. All the other airlines only give you a drink. Lucky you!
I feel ya too, at least the traveling part. Scott loves flying, I hate it though. We will make it so worth it though! HOoRay! We get to see Brooke!!!!

I'm with you on the flying thing. It seems exciting until I start boarding and then I'm all nerves. I loved the picture of the hole, you are just hilarious. Where are you going?? Did I miss that? Anyway, have a great getaway, you deserve it.
