My Monday Mess

Have you guys ever wondered what would happen if you took a jar of candle wax, melted it on the stove to prepare for an amazing object lesson, and then pushed the top portion of the wax into the melted bottom portion?

No? It must just be Shane and I. I really thought more people would be nodding their heads yes to that...

***scratching head in amazement***

I was kind of hoping perhaps you'd done that before...you know, "I've been there, done that"?

Dang, because I could really use some advice on this -

and this,

and this,

and particularly these...

Alright, well if you have any ideas on how to get really nice smelling purple wax out of everything, we'll entertain any and all ideas...seriously....ANY and ALL ideas....

Did I mention it smells really good in my kitchen?

Oh, and the object lesson went over really well, it was about change and how it makes us stronger... (so does scrubbing wax off of your entire kitchen, just saying)

Wow, I thought my apple pie making project was a mess but this wins the award. Yikes, I wish I had some pointers. Nope, never tried to attempt that before but I give you guys a 10 for coming up with the idea and carrying it out. You really never cease to amaze me!!! Hmmmm....I'm scratching my head. Good luck!

Oh no!!!!! What a huge mess! Especially the clothes! I will see what I have in my nifty cleaning book. I do know that Gold Canyon sells a wax remover.

When we moved into our house in Lubbock there was a huge blue wx stain on the carpet that the previous owner had hidden under rug. I scraped up the wax. Then I put a thin white towel on top of the wax and ironed over it so all the wax got soaked up on the towel when it melted. After it cooled I just cleaned up the remainder with oxyclean.

Mine is similar to Karen only I use a brown paper bag. That way I can just throw away the bag with the melted wax on it.

You weren't wearing aprons??? :) That is horrible. I had no idea that would happen, but thanks for the tip. Mondays are hard enough already. Good luck!

I have no idea what the heck you were trying to do.

Let me get this straight. The moral of the story is Obama (change) makes us stronger, even if we have a really hard time cleaning up the messes that come with the change.

Shane came up with this object lesson didn't he? I couldn't have done a better job if I tried.

Ouch! As my dad would say, no good deed goes unpunished.
I learned the hard way how to get melted wax out of fabric. (Picture all the brand new spring clothes in the dryer with a box of crayons.-- nice)
Try lighter fluid and dish soap and lots of elbow grease.--Prayer helps as well. Though i'm sure the mess is cleaned by now, you can file it away until your twins try something like my kids did. (not that i'm trying to give them any ideas) :)
