I'm a typical American. I spend the end of the old year and the start of the new year thinking of ways to improve myself. We can always improve right? I mean, none of us are perfect. Like when we lack a little patience with the kids, eat a little extra at dinner, honk a little loudly at the idiot in front of us, take two weeks to get Christmas thank you cards written, rake the leaves and then leave the piles in the yard, leave the laundry for another day...you get the idea.
I decided this was my year to really pull it all together. I mean who really wants to look at piles of leaves in their yard and laundry? Oh, and losing the baby weight - kind of up there on the list. So I started exercising more. The kind of exercising that makes you sore - the really good kind of sore.
Then I took the youngest three kids in for a check up yesterday and realized I may be stronger and in better shape than I think. Landry measures 33" and 27 lbs. 9 oz., Cael is 33" and 26 lbs. 10 oz., and Savannah is 42" and 45 lbs.
You see, in any given day I carry the babies up and down our stairs 4-5 times. I carry them when they're tired and sad, I pick them up when they're hurt. I pick Savannah up an average of 10 times a day and when I go walking I typically push the babies in the double stroller and Savannah hops on the back of the stroller for a ride. According to the measurements we got yesterday I'm hauling 54 - 100 lbs. of child...sweet.
So, in conclusion...resolutions are great - they help us see where we need to improve. But sometimes we're doing better than we really think we are.
P.S. I'm not really making any goals about leaves...I hate raking, but I hate cleaning up the piles more - and raking burns more calories than cleaning up the piles anyway...

I think you've honked at me before.....just kidding!! :)
Don't worry about the leaves in your yard....when we get a good wind, they'll just all blow away!
Why is it that you are always spot on??? Way to go on the exercising hardcore--I really, really, need to do that. Though, I'm with you, lifting babies is the ultimate workout that nobody but mother's of multiples can even understand. By the way, the babes are fine this morning--they're just going through a rotten sleeping stage. I'm a mean mommy, I guess!
I am confused anout why any of those things that you listed are in need of improvement. Isn't that all normal?
And at risk of sounding super cliche, it is truly a blessing to be able to lift the babies. Truly.
