Bed Bugs

Not literally though, because that would be disgusting, right?

We actually have kids in beds...four of them. Much to my dismay. It sort of ruined my plan, and I'm a plannin' sort of gal. But as the saying goes, "The best laid schemes of Mice and Men, oft go awry..."

Cael's been getting out of his crib for months. And months. And months. It's gotten kind of old, but my sanity includes babies in cribs, for as long as possible. We apparently hit that limit this week. They were done. Actually, to be more precise, Cael was done with it. Then because we pulled one out of a crib, they both had to...because that's what you do when you're a twin.

So now in the gigantic kids room we have: 1 twin bed for Savannah, 2 empty cribs, 2 crib mattresses on the floor, and a jungle gym otherwise known as a changing table. Oh, and a night stand that's just perfect for hide 'n seek. We also have 2 closets stuffed full of toys and dressers, locked up tight. Plus a couple of kids laughing at each other on their little beds...

And downstairs in the family room you have a mother questioning her sanity and her ability to handle nap time and bed time and thanking her lucky stars they can't yet extract themselves from the high chairs, the car seats or the stroller. This realization pretty much sets the world at peace.

I feel your pain. For the last two nights I've had to separate my girls so they'll fall asleep at a reasonable hour. One in our room, one in their room, and one on the floor in the hallway.

Oh, what I'd give for ONE MORE ROOM!!

They still stay in the stroller and high chair? You lucky woman!

I totally understand! I just barely moved Sophie to a big girl bed and for two weeks, she played with toys and read books instead of sleeping until she'd finally crash exhausted on the floor. I had to put one of those safety door handle locks on the inside just so she wouldn't come out of her room! She' used to it now and goes right down when it's naptime or bedtime. Thank goodness! (But she doesn't have a partner in crime, either...) Hang in there and maybe you'll have some luck, too.

Milestones....you've gotta love em' right? No, really, not this milestone. I'm seriously dreading it! I love that currently I can put them in their cribs, walk away, and know that they are going to stay there (for now that is) Good luck with this little transition, I'm sure you can handle it because after all, you are superwoman!!!!

Nightmare. I still have to lay down with Taffy every night until she falls asleep and forget naps unless she's so worn out she zonks on the couch. (I wish I could figure out a door handle thingy for our doors.)
