Wooo weeee, that was a storm!

I must apologize to you all. One, I can't spell exclamation words like woo weee, and Two, it seems that I've been living under the impression that somewhere flat can not flood...silly me, because well, it can. Our street is amazingly dry this morning after yesterday's storm. However just a few blocks away at the duck pond, the ducks are enjoying a pond three times it's normal size. It seems that for the first time since my in-laws moved here in 1974, a tornado touched down inside the city limits and we received the second highest rainfall, 4.58", since 1968. Can you say 6 foot standing puddles? How 4.58" equates to 6 foot standing puddles is beyond me, but it works like that, seriously.

Care to see pics? See here: http://www.mywesttexas.com/ and here: http://www.newswest9.com/ Crazy, I know.

Oh, and I'm trying to upload a video I took before our yard flooded. There's a thunder clap, which is sadly, quite unimpressive on video as compared to real life. Also, the video quit right before a truck drove down the street and didn't realize there was a dip. It was really very funny. Sorry y'all had to miss it - the babies missed it to, they slept through most of the storm. Lincoln and Savannah didn't miss it, they enjoyed the whole storm, though I'm thinking it's hard to enjoy it when you're stuck in a "tornado shelter" in the hall with the rest of the school. I'll keep trying to get it up, but remember Shane's the computer geek, not me...'night!
