Utah Vacation, Day 6

Dear Vacation,

Lovely day today, wasn't it?

Savannah loved her date with Aunt Nani. I mean really, did you think she wouldn't enjoy spending hours with other princesses, meeting all her favorite (and all the others) Disney princesses? She went on a treasure hunt, tried on "the slipper", was sprinkled with pixie dust, went to a tea party with the Mad Hatter... her day in Paradise, I'm sure.

'Course, the babies and I had to do something fun while she got spoiled, so we spoiled ourselves with Cafe Rio for lunch. To think there was a day about 4 1/2 years ago when I really didn't like Cafe Rio... (shaking head) What was wrong with me?

Swimming at Natalie's pool was great too. Between Natalie and I wrangling all the kids in the pool it worked out rather well. Cael was confident enough by the end that he was holding on to just my fingers and kicking rather enthusiastically. Landry still wanted to be held, but she loved jumping off the side of the pool to us, which was something Cael wasn't interested in. Savannah had her tube and loved playing by the steps, or being pulled around by one of us. She didn't freak out too much when we stepped back and left her "swim" to us. Maybe by the end of this trip we'll have been in the pool enough for them to like it...until next Summer. I can't exactly wrangle 3 non-swimming kids in a pool by myself.

I ended the evening with a chick flick movie night with Natalie. "Win A Date With Tad Hamilton" is just not something Shane would ever watch, though it's a shame. There was really poignant messages through out the entire movie. Something about friend boy likes you, doesn't say anything, hot boy likes you too, he comes with fame and money, then you realize that what you already had is better than anything you could get with hot boy...you kiss, you dance, the end. Total chick flick. I loved it. Shane would have passed out about half way through the first scene. That's why I love my "date nights" with Natalie!

On the calendar for tomorrow? Church. At our old ward. With our old friends. Not old, like gray hair, but old friends that make you feel at home, even if you've lived away longer than you lived there. I love going "home" to that neighborhood. (sigh)
