Plans? and Puke

Today after math class a 19 year old (who has become a friend, you know...bff, because I'm young at heart) asked me if I knew what I was going to be taking next semester. She informed me that she had her whole schooling figured out, what classes to take when until she graduates in three years.

My response?

"I used to have my life planned out too. Then life happened and I threw away the plans."

Yes, you can quote me. I'm deep like that.

Out of the 20 people in my math class I'm about middle of the road when it comes to age. There's one lady who I swear is going to have a coronary getting to class one day because she's so old, she smokes and we're on the third floor with no elevator. She makes me feel younger every time I see her. God bless her. Then there are the 17-18 year olds who are in college for the social scene. I keep wondering if I was that shallow when I started college at the same age. I pray not, because seriously if I ever thought life was just about the next party to go to...

Never mind, I have no idea what that is even like.

Also, just an FYI for us parents out there. You know how your first reaction when a child starts screaming in the middle of the night is to swoop in, pick them up and hug them? Never a good thing to do when you're still groggy and they just threw up...and they're still heaving...repeat four times. I swear I never learn. Plus, seriously, WHY does the puking only happen in the middle of the night? I'll bake cookies for the first person who can explain that to me.

I don't think I've ever had my life planned out....well unless you count how I wanted to be a spinster Aunt who was really rich and lived on the East coast so that all of her nieces and nephews could come and spend their sixteenth summer with her.

Sorry about the puke. I have no answers.

I'll add some brownies to that. Seriously, Charlie is the reigning king of the midnight puke. Sorry it happens to you, too!

I think I know that old lady. If you ever have to do a group project DON'T LET HER IN. Seriously. She went OFF about the spacing in our Word document that was a DRAFT but couldn't put words together to make a cohesive sentence.

Seriously.

Sorry about the puke. :)

Wow! How our lives align when children are involved. Plans, puke and all!
