Dear vacation,
When I meant nothing today, I really meant it. I was thinking of sleeping in to at least 8 a.m., lounging around with the kids, reading books, and playing games.
I did not really anticipate the 5 a.m. wake up call from Thing 3 when she was hacking her mucus filled lungs up, nor did I expect to become a human emesis basin when the mucus gagged her again and again. I sort of expected her eyes to be glued shut, since we were wiping green boogies out of her eyes yesterday, but that was it. Though I loved seeing my friends at Dr. Clark's office this morning and I enjoyed our jaunt to the Provo Sam's Club for her bubble gum flavored medicine, it didn't qualify for nothing.
I did love that I got to stop at the Asian Market to buy rice seasoning; we were out and needed some desperately. I haven't found an Asian market in our part of Texas yet, but if I ever wanted Latin rice...well, our stores have it covered. I think I could have easily spent an hour walking the aisles trying to read any of the labels on the bottles and jars at the market, but well, I really wanted to do nothing, so home we went for naps.
I never thought I'd appreciate a nap so much, and I felt very refreshed afterwards. Wow. Can I do that more often please?
Plus, Mom got herself a new fridge, a working a/c and we had shrimp pasta salad for dinner.
Turned out to be a pretty good day.
Still missing Shane, a lot, but I'm really still not missing the weather. It's gorgeous here, plus the view is great.
Still yours truly, but only because the last part of the day turned out a lot better than the first part...
B
