Saturday

Friday morning

9 a.m. - piano tuner arrives (this is completely unrelated but still worth mentioning) If you need a good piano tuner in the Midland area call Michael Sherrod, he's the best. (my blog is totally starting to be a business directory for the greater Midland area...)

9:30 a.m. - dumpster arrives, the temperature is hovering around freezing, there is snow on the ground, the dumpster delivery man is new to the job and takes a few too many minutes to steer the dumpster to the appropriate location on my driveway

9:45 a.m. - my feet and hands freeze off (well, not off, just to the point I may never use them again)

10:00 a.m. - school, on a delayed start yet again, is scheduled to start.  We take a sluff day since there are dumpster deliverers, and piano tuners, hanging out at our house

10:15 a.m. - dumpster is in it's semi-permanent location in my driveway, temperatures start to rise

Noon - sun comes out, temperatures rise to 45°, snow melts, kids are antsy, mom is crazy, coughs and stuffy noses start...

Saturday morning

8 a.m. - Shane leaves to pick up donuts, and face masks, garage is clean

9 a.m. - helpers show up, donuts eaten, masks donned, work starts

10 a.m. - Savannah's beloved pile 'o junk in the back yard is gone

11 a.m. - garage is unloaded onto remaining driveway

Noon - dumpster is full, garage walls are now void of most of their dry wall, garage is one really big pile 'o junk consisting of 50 year old dry wall and insulation

1 p.m. - dumpster is gone, 15 yards full of old wood, dry wall and heavy, manual labor in a big pile 'o junk

2 p.m. - pizza is delivered, decide we didn't want to do this project right now, but since it's too late to turn back we confirm our feelings of hatred to the previous homeowners and push on, without any additional help

8 p.m. - garage is now somewhat clean, possessions have either been placed back in the garage or taken a place in the storage unit, and we have once again embarked on a hideous, lengthy and consuming home remodeling project

Sunday morning

7:30 a.m. - sore, tired and sick, coughing up half of the dust ingested through the face masks and realizing I'm sick of working on this house besides being just plain sick, but just like with all of our projects, this one will end and I'll probably get something great out of it, like the new deck, and the pantry...maybe it is worth it?!?!

How was your weekend?

Not as exciting as yours, although I was and still am sick. Did I catch your cold while reading your blog?
