Potty Training Stinks...Literally

Thing #2 has pretty well mastered the first part of potty training.  You know the peeing in the toilet, waking up dry, not having accidents and dribbling pee through the house and on the floor part.  We've rarely had an accident in several weeks.  (knock on wood and say my prayers, because anytime you verbally announce something like this it jinxes you...)

Thing #2 can not figure out the second part of potty training.  Can. Not.  The only indication I have that he needs to go #2 is by him walking to me with a funky walk and a full load in his underwear.   Too.  Late.  He's been successful just once in this regard, after Shane left him for literally 20 minutes on the toilet while we were at church (I think Shane was trying to get out of teaching...). I'll take any advice you have on getting through this, because I'm THIS close to leaving him in diapers...

Thing #1 has no desire to master potty training.  She has been bribed with candy, treats and her favorite "piggytail" underwear (yes, Tinkerbell).  She has been persuaded perhaps three times to empty anything out on the toilet.  I'm thinking she may be ready by kindergarten....or first grade.  Maybe.

Hmmmm...so much fun. Aren't you grateful this is your last time to have to potty train? As far as Thing #2 is concerned, Shane's strategy actually worked for my Squeaker. Yep, we knew she had to go so we said she couldn't come out till she pooped in the potty. She fell asleep on the toilet, but hey no accident. And Thing #1 -- maybe tell her she absolutely can NOT wear big girl underwear. She HAS to wear diapers. Maybe then she'll want to. :)

Oh man, I do NOT envy you. I have no idea what to tell you and I totally agree, potty training does STINK in every way! I really think that when they are ready, they will do it. My kids were just ready, well, Kami was, but Porter just kind of followed along. I tried to force some of my other kids and it made it so much worse so just hang in there. Oh, and I agree with Kim, using a little reverse psychology might just do the trick! Good luck and hang in there--I know you are way more patient than me so you have that going for you.

Charlotte didnt stop pooping in her pants until 8 months later. I start getting a twitch in my eye just thinking about it.
What FINALLY worked? My Mom. She told her she couldnt come to her house and spend the night until she went potty. She would call everyday to check up and discuss their fun plans. When she remained clean for a week she got to have a slumber party with all the works. Maybe you need to talk to Grandma.
