Back to Work

Well, like all good things, my time as a full-time dad are over and it's back to work for Shane tomorrow. I'm not really looking forward to going back to work at the prison. I think I've missed work about as much as the Taiwan Flue. Staying at home with Brooke and the Children has been a lot of fun and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to spend all that time home with them.

As many of you already know we are moving to Texas as the beginning of April so we've been busy getting our home ready to put on the market. We've painted our entry way and hallway this week and are looking to paint the Master Bedroom and two bathrooms in the next month or so.

Lincoln had a new and exciting week in school. After having some issues with a non-structured class room environment, we requested he be moved to a different class. He has responded well and is doing much better in school. Lincoln makes friends quickly and tells us that he enjoys his new class and is making new friends.

My mom has been staying with us all week helping us with the twins and potty training Savannah. Savannah is responding very well to potty training and thinks she is a very big girl, she's even waking up dry some nights. She is still trying to get used to the changes around here and is having a difficult time not being the center of everyone's attention.
This week I received a huge confirmation that my decision to move to Texas and start a new career as a land man is the right thing to do. As I was checking the morning news a headline flashed across the screen announcing that Silver State Helicopters, the nationwide company I had signed on with and then didn't feel right about, had gone bankrupt! They closed all 30 locations nationwide in one day and left a bunch of people with tons of debt to pay back and nothing to show for it. The bad news in this is that the School had not returned the loan dispersement from Citibank! I don't think I will be on the line for the money because I followed the cancellation clause of the contract and kept my end of the contract. But to be on the safe side, recently lawyerfied brother Clinton, is writing a demand letter to Citibank for me asking them to excuse me from their problem with Silver State. I'll keep you posted on how that goes.
