Our house is now officially listed. The sign went up yesterday, the listing is on the MLS and we're having showings. This is where the problems arise. Have you ever tried keeping a house, that you're living in and packing up, spotless 24/7? I mean, we're talking about a house that 2 adults and 4 children live in...not just 4 children but a 2 1/2 year old and two babies...ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!?!?! We're not dirty people by any means, but we LIVE in our house!
OK, so anyway - we got the house completely spotless and decluttered yesterday. Seriously, not a dust particle was out of place when the realtor came to take pictures yesterday. We took to heart all of the advice that we had heard and made sure there was no more than one article of anything on the counters, we packed and shoved anything and everything that is a necessity but isn't for show. We had our first showing scheduled and were all but packing up the babies to go to the neighbors for an hour...when the showing cancelled. Not a big deal, right? Whatever, within an hour Savannah had emptied all of the books left on her bookshelf onto the floor. During dinner last night the kids got food all over the floor, again. I mean it's a never ending process anyway, but when you're trying to keep it perfect every little crumb and dust particle really bug!
Well, we have another showing (potentially) today so I'm off to rearrange couch cushions and air molecules to their prime positions to expedite the sale!
Love you all, wish us luck!

Congratulations on selling your house! Two days on the market - you must not have been exaggerating when you said not a dust particle was out of place. When is the closing?
That is so frustrating! That is the very reason Wyck is moving to Utah without us for another few months...I didn't want to have the house on the market flying solo with three kids and a new baby. I hope it sells fast so that you don't have to endure too much perfection. Perfection is not all that it's cracked up to be, is it?
