We're in Midland!

Well, it's official. We've landed in Midland Texas. The drive down was uneventful (in a good way) and we spent the next 2 days looking for a home. The real estate market here is crazy, there are only 340 homes listed on the MLS in Midland (in case you're wondering that's very low). We three homes that we really liked and we narrowed it down to one and made an offer. After a few counters back and forth our offer was accepted and we will be closing on our new home on the 24th.

We won't be moving that weekend because that's the week that Rhett and Missy will be getting married. We won't be moving the weekend after that because it is there reception. So we'll get moved in eventually, but we want to wait and make sure we are able to help with the wedding and reception if we are needed.

The kids are doing well, the babies are starting to sleep a little longer and Lincoln will be starting school tomorrow. We gave him the week off from school since he missed his spring break, and the school district has already had their spring break. I think he's a little worried about starting school, but he's so good at adapting and making friends, I don't think he has anything to worry about. Savannah is still being her "go-everywhere-do-anything" self and hasn't missed a beat since arriving in Midland.

Brooke is adapting as well...everyone should be proud of her. She is catching on to the lay of the land pretty quickly and is driving places on her own without instruction. She's doing much better than I did when I first moved to Utah. It took me forever to figure out that system.

I start my job tomorrow. I'm excited to be starting a new career and look forward to learning what is required of me. Starting a new job always makes me a little nervous, but the casual atmosphere and laid back attitude of the company should make it easy to adapt.

We miss our friends and family in Utah, but we are embarking on a new and exciting chapter in our lives and are looking forward to making the best of it.

Congrats on the move and finding a house so quickly. Can't wait to see what it looks like after you are done with it. Make sure to post before and after photos. I enjoy that! Good job at getting around, Brooke! Do you feel like you're going to just float off the planet yet? I missed the boundaries and grounding effect the mountains gave in Utah, and I still don't know which way North and South is unless I'm driving my car and the compass tells me.

Welcome back to Midland! Let us know if you need any help with moving or anything else. We need to have you guys over as soon as I get back in town. Can't wait to meet your family.
