Lincoln received a rubiks cube almost a year ago and, like any 7 year-old, had it completely messed up within 5 minutes. Not just kind of messed up, completely and utterly twisted to the point of no return...until today! :) Yes, my sister-in-law Missy and I decided to work on it. Please note, this is not the first time it has been worked on in the last year. Many, many people have tried to solve this confounded piece of plastic over the last 12 months, but to no avail. Missy and I decided that we were going to prove how determined/smart we are. Upon finding instructions on the internet, we proceeded to accomplish the feat at hand. (Yes, instructions from the internet had been used in prior attempts with no success.)
Yes, we are extremely proud of ourselves. I called Shane at work to report our success, his response - "I'd be impressed if you hadn't cheated and used the internet..." I'm still proud of myself, so there!
Also other success this month came in the form of the egg drop at Cub Scouts Day Camp. Using Shane's idea, yes, found on the ever-informative internet, we used a secret concoction of popcorn and plastic bags inside a box. Our lucky little egg survived it's violent 45-foot fall. YEAH!
Last update for the month of July; the twins turned 6 months old. I took them to the Dr. for their check up this week. Here are the numbers:
Cael is now 14 lbs. 8 oz. and 26" long. Landry is 13 lbs. 14 oz. and 24 7/8" long. She's quickly gaining on him. They both still fit comfortably in 0-3 month clothes. The Dr. suggested we try putting rice cereal in their bottles to "fatten them up a little", honestly I've never had to receive that advice before. Here's hoping that next month we can report they are progressing in the ability to roll over, sit up and fit into 3-6 month clothes!
