We started our adventures with a 'little' hike to Timpanogos Cave. Just me, Savannah and Lincoln with some friends. Thankfully those friends included Lincoln's dad, Chris, because it was a little more adventuresome than I had planned on. It's a mile and a half up, mile and a half down and about a 45 minute trek through the three connected caves. The weather was on our side with a great cool morning and a light rain to keep things enjoyable. Savannah was a trooper and hoofed it about half way up before deciding she needed a little help. Between Chris and I she made it to the top in well less than an hour. As we waited for the tour to start we got a great look at the low-lying clouds in the canyon and tried to catch our breath (or those of us from lower altitudes tried to do so). Lincoln was so excited to finally see the inside of a huge cave - so was Savannah, until they opened the doors. Let's just say our trip to Carlsbad Caverns may be postponed until further notice...

Utah...part 3
(If you want a closer look at the pics click on the collage)
The picture of Savannah shows her 'excitement' for the cave. She literally had to be pushed/carried through the entirety of the cave, yes, for 45 minutes. To make it even better they did a lights out display in the middle, made us crouch under a rock shaped just like a t-rex and dinosaur teeth. With each explanation/display she became more and more uneasy. By the end she was completely emotionally worn out. I felt bad for her, I must have because I carried her down the entire mile and a half trail to the base. Talk about a great trap workout! Lincoln was enthralled the entire time. He can't wait to go into more caves.
I got a call from Chris after we were home to let me know that Chase, one of the other boys who were with us really liked Savannah. He's four and told his dad on the drive home that, "I totally liked that girl, when I get bigger I am going to marry her in the temple!" So there you have it, if all other prospects fall through she's got a promise from Chase to marry her one day...as long as he doesn't take her on a date to a cave!

That sounds like a fun day. I LOVE that look on Savannah's face. Too bad she wasn't having a good time. And too cute on having an offer of marriage already!
That is so funny about the little boy. At least it is in the temple, right? Sounds like a fun experience :-P
My that Savannah has a lot of suitors! We loved Carlsbad except for the kid lugging, what a work out you must have gotten!
Brooke, it would have been so cool to visit with you while you were down here. If you ever come visit again, we would love to have you over for dinner. We have plenty of kids activities at our house so we would be able to catch up....Sorry we missed ya!
