Utah Vacation, Day 10

Dear Vacation,

You're a peach. I really appreciate you sending my husband to me today. Single parenthood was something in my past life, and I don't love it when I have to go back to it, even for 10 days at a time. It's really nice to be able to pass the ornery kids off to someone else for a spell, and the diapers could really use a fresh nose to offend. Seriously!

We really enjoyed playing with Emily and Sierra this morning. Baby Kate was so gorgeous and fun to hold, and I really realized that we're happily done with the baby stage. (*tear*/*Sigh of relief*) I may not really miss the newborn stage of life, but I really, really miss the friends that have the newborns, like Nicole and Kristen. It's fun to be close enough to hold the babies, play with the kids, and then hand them back and get a full nights' sleep.

Dress shopping with Sandee was great! Other than wishing jealously that I had her body, it was fun to see her try on dresses and find one that she loves. She looks gorgeous Trevor, FYI...and I have pictures... (nah nah nah nah nah nah) Never having had sisters, it's been fun to talk wedding with my "sisters", thanks Sandee!

Family pictures went, um, ok? Poor Shanna has the patience of Job when it comes to squirmy toddlers, one of whom mysteriously came down with a fever just in time for pictures, and children who couldn't care less about looking into the lens of a camera. THANK YOU SHANNA!!! (By the way, Cael woke up this morning feeling fine, with no fever, he just did it for you!) I know they'll turn out fine, because you were behind the camera, and not me! Plus seriously, a picture is a picture, regardless of how many eyes were really looking at the camera. Anything is better than what we have now...a snapshot from two years ago!

We ended the night with a Nintendo contest between Shane and I. He won. Like always. And it felt like home.

Sincerely,
B

Up for tomorrow?
Meeting Trevor's family, like a huge, but not as funny Meet The Parents. Because seriously, we're not as funny as Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. Almost, but not quite. Plus I'm sure there will be some play time with Lyndon, Charlotte and their parents. (maybe their parents)
