You remember my complaint that it seems the kids only have special things that I need to attend on the hottest days of the year?
Lincoln's field day was no exception. Seriously. They decided to reschedule from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., which also happens to be a hotter time of day. And it was forecasted to be no less than 105°. And the weatherman was right. Thank goodness for trees in the stadiums...oh, kidding. Thank goodness for canopies. And hands to hold down the canopies in West Texas wind.
And snow cones afterward.
Those are 6th graders. Seriously, people, we grow them big down here in Texas.
Big, and fast.
The cheerleaders.
I'm not sure what Cael is doing, but I'm sure it's awesome.
Lincoln is number 12...I mean the one kneeling down.
Pretty sure he's in there somewhere.
Or there...
Tug of war. Lincoln's class won.
Tug of war again. They won again.
Right after this picture his class won for the final time. And Lincoln got dragged, on the astroturf, for about 5 yards. He'll be scarred for life, seriously. Nothing like losing many, many layers of skin off your thigh and elbow to realize you should never be the end of the tug of war rope.

Love those shirts!! Go #12 :):) Oh, poor Lincoln being the end of the tug-of-war. Sounds sooo painful! By the way, I saw your mom at Patty's funeral. She's such a sweet lady and it was fun to visit with her for a minute. Hope you guys are doing well, sure wish I was making a trip to Texas to enjoy your 105 degree weather....not! Although, I would love to come and hang out with you for a few days!
